Louise Nicholson - Staff Governor
I qualified as a teacher 16 years ago and began my career working in a reception class for 3 years. After returning from maternity leave, I then spent the next few years teaching in almost every year group of primary school. Although challenging, this provided a fantastic
opportunity to gain valuable experience in understanding the whole primary school learning journey.
I have been a senior teacher at Normanby-by-Spital for the past 4 years, teaching in the Year 4, 5 and 6 class. Working here has allowed me to develop my interest in mixed aged curriculum and work with our amazing staff to drive our small school forward. I am very excited and honoured to take on this next challenge as a governor for our new school Federation.
Andrew Firth - Co opted
I have lived in Normanby by Spital for over 25 years and I was a governor of Normanby School for almost 20 years. I am now a co-opted governor of Fairacres Federation.
I worked as commercial sales leader in the agricultural supply industry for over 40 years and have recently retired.
My interests are travel, cycling, skiing and playing the guitar.
I feel that I still have much to offer the federation as a governor and my current individual responsibilities are pupil premium, attendance and data.
Kerri Grummell - Headteacher
I have been on the Governing Body for several years, firstly as a teacher governor and now as the Headteacher. I am lucky to work with a dedicated team of school governors who work hard to raise standards and are passionate about school improvement.
Peter Beveridge - LA Governor - Vice Chair
I have been retired from full time employment since 2012 and still work part time as a cycling instructor. Prior to retirement, I worked in education for thirty years as a teacher and then for much of my career as a Headteacher. I was Headteacher of a small village school and then of a large primary on the Lincolnshire coast. I also worked as an acting education inspector and as a consultant head. I have served on several county committeees dealing with Children Centres, safeguarding and school capacity.
I am currently a Parish Councillor in Binbrook where I have lived for many years. I also keep the local church clock wound up. In more normal times, I enjoy travel and try to visit a different island around the British coast each year. I am an enthusiastic walker and cyclist.
Graham Dawson - Parent Governor - Chair of Governors
I have spent my entire career working in Finance. The first 19 years were spent within the Charitable Sector, working as a Finance Manager for numerous charities including the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and the Lincolnshire Showground. I am now a Commercial Finance Manager for Witham Oil & Paint, a Lubricant manufacturer based in Lincoln, Lowestoft and Suffolk.
I live with my partner Kirsty and two boys, Sidney and Harold, just outside Wragby. I have a keen interest in motorbikes, especially classic ones. I own, amongst others, a 1957 BSA Bantam which I ride regularly in off road trials.
Sue Pottinger - Co-opted Governor
In 2019 I retired from my role as Administrator/Clerk to Governors at Faldingworth School after 32 years. I hope that my experience of working in a school will be an asset to the governing body of the federation. I am looking forward to taking an active role in both schools. My interests are gardening, baking, going to the theatre, spending time with my family and British wildlife.
Tilden Watson - Co-opted Governor
I live in the village of Normanby-by-Spital and have been a community Governor for over ten years. Both of my children went to Normanby-by-Spital Primary School and as such, I have retained a real interest in seeing the school thrive as part of the Community. Outside my role as a Governor, I am an accountant and currently work for a large Swiss Insurance Company. I have also held governance and audit roles in both Local and Central Government. One of my main areas of interest is the safeguarding agenda of both schools.
Daniel Bryden - Parent Governor
I started my career as a teacher, working as a secondary mathematics teacher in Coventry and then at De Aston for two years. Despite not continuing in the profession, I have always had an interest in education and am delighted to be able to contribute to its development at the Fair Acres Federation.
My two daughters are at Faldingworth School. As a family we support the school whenever we can, and personally I have had the pleasure of volunteering on school trips and helping by reading with Lancelot class on a regular basis.
I now work in insurance, for one of the largest insurance brokers in the world. My team works with data to help understand the business and support our clients. The role requires good leadership skills, the ability to present to senior people and a good head for numbers.
I feel a real sense of community in the local area. Not only are my daughters friends with children from all around Faldingworth, but due to my time at De Aston I also find myself at the school gates talking to parents who were once my students.
Outside of work I enjoy running, listening to music and playing the guitar (but not particularly well!).
Graham Crompton-Howe - Co-opted Governor
I was born in Preston in 1952 and moved with a new job to Owmby By Spital 30 years ago. My profession is as a Civil Engineer, I am the Estimating manager for Fox Owmby Ltd where I price tenders for all types of schemes up to £6m.
My wife Kaye and I have 4 sons, 2 of which went to and thoroughly enjoyed Normanby by Spital Primary School. Just so we did not get bored, we took on board due to modern marriages 2 granddaughters which were at the time 2 and 4 years old, now 12 and 14. Having raised boys, bringing up 2 young ladies certainly has opened up a whole new world!
Both went to Normanby by Spital Primary School, now one is at Caistor Grammar the other De Aston, as with the boys they too have very happy memories of primary school. Bringing up 6 children all very different in many ways has led to many different pets, including snakes, spiders, lizards, chickens and the more mundane and much loved dogs.
I have been a Governor at Normanby by Spital Primary for the last 4 years. I am Chairman of Owmby by Spital Parish Council, a position I have held for 20+ years.
My interests are gardening, in particular vegetables, and recently cultivating wild flowers, bird watching and shooting where I am and have been Chairman of several clubs. I am a firm believer that a solid and caring primary school education is a fundamental building block to a child’s future and I hope in my small way to shape that future.
Barbara Moulson - Co-opted Governor
I joined the Federation as a Governor in October 2024, having spent two years as a volunteer in Normanby school listening to readers.
I have had a varied career, from working in urban regeneration, to a field ecologist and bat conservation officer, and for a learning disability charity.
I was a parish councilor for Normanby by Spital for a number of years and continue to support the local community by volunteering for local initiatives and assisting with grant funding. I am also the treasurer of my local WI group.
I am a lifelong bookworm and in my spare time, I enjoy gardening and wildlife. I love to travel, particularly to Mediterranean islands. On a personal note, I have 2 adult daughters, 4 grandsons and a new granddaughter.
