Intent

Our RE curriculum is designed to ensure that learners are:

• tolerant and respectful of all people no matter who they are
• aware of how people live beyond rural Lincolnshire
• able to question and articulate their own beliefs and ideas about the world
• reflective and empathetic

We follow the Lincolnshire Agreed Syllabus which focuses predominantly on Christianity and Islam in KS1 and Christianity, Islam and Hinduism in KS2. Throughout the curriculum, there are opportunities in the additional units for children to study a wide range of world views. In these additional units, at least one of the religions or world views studied must not be Christianity, Hinduism and Islam. This is to give the children a wider understanding of the world around them and to look at how different people choose to live their lives. Our aim is to promote an ethos of self-reflection and analysis as well as guiding the children to be open and tolerant.

We have regular visitors from the local Anglican and Methodist Chursches (weekly assemblies Mondays)
