Memorial Event - in memory of all those who served at R.A.F/P.A.F Faldingworth during World War II
Faldingworth School has received a very special letter of their thanks for its involvement in the event. We are very proud to give our respect to the veterans, families and supporters of the memorial event.
Another Memorial Day completed at Faldingworth September 26th 2015 . Dignitaries, veterans and people from America, Poland and all over the world gathered at Faldingworth village and then onto the memorial, to see the new memorial plaques dedicated. The plaques commemorate the 37 aircraft lost from here and the 248 lives lost on those aircraft.
Settled weather made a very enjoyable day.Many volunteers and helpers worked hard to make the day successful
Market Rasen and Lincoln A.T.C squadrons were key in helping to run. the event. Brigg A.T.C attended with the band.
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight was a sight to see, with a Spitfire and Hurricane flypast before the church service and a Dakota flypast to greet the congregation as they exited the church.
After the dedication on the airfield the visitors returned to Faldingworth school for tea and speeches. They were entertained by children from Faldingworth school performing two songs, pupils had decorated the school with stories and pictures relevant to the day.
John Blanks a local performer sung "To Those Who Will Not Know Me" a folk song about the polish airmen and their time at Faldingworth.
